The San Diego Fishermen’s Working Group (SDFWG) collaborates with several other organizations – the California Fishermen’s Resiliency Association (CFRA), the Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen’s Associations (PCFFA), the South Bay Cable Fisheries Liaison Committee, and the Fishermen’s Marketing Association San Diego, SDFWG’s marketing branch for local fishermen’s markets within the San Diego area.
California Fishermen’s Resiliency Association (CFRA) is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit Mutual Benefit Corporation that was formed to establish a “point of contact” between fishermen, California regulatory agencies, and offshore, non-fishing, industrial developers. The CRFA advocates for healthy, product, ocean environments and long-term resiliency for seafood harvesters and our local coastal communities. SDFWG is a sitting member of the CFRA.
Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen’s Associations (PCFFA) is a statewide organization of California’s commercial fishing associations, led by working fishermen from every major fishery and port. PCFFA works together to keep seafood local, sustain coastal economies, and preserve California’s working waterfronts for the next generation. SDFWG is a board member of the PCFFA.
South Bay Cable Fisheries Liaison Committee was founded to promote education, provide oversight, and management of both the installation and maintenance of transpacific cables, while partnering with commercial fishermen and research entities along the Southern California coast to mitigate any potential conflicts. A member of the SDFWG is president of this organization.
